Double Fattah, double Kasrah, double Dammah; are all called Tanwīn/Tanween. A letter carrying Tanween is called Munawwan.
In fact Tanween is a Noon Saakinah that lies at the end of the word(Mostly a Noun), that is why Tanween
sounds like Noon Saakinah, but instead of being written that way it has, a double vowel.
Sometimes ‘ا’ or ‘ی’ is shown after double Fattah, do not pronounce it during syllabification.
Most rules are shared with Noon Saakinah. For rules see Ihkaam al-Noon al-Saakina wal-Tanween.
The 3 types of written Tanween can help determine which rule from the category of Ihkaam al-Noon al-Saakina wal-Tanween is being used.
